Logo work

In the previous post, I mentioned Pathway was going in a new, simplified direction. I have been given the “OK” to pursue a new church logo that incorporates “Know Love, Grow Love, Show Love” in it’s imagery. We could either go with a Pathway/Love branding or a updated Pathway branding with a Love branding. Either way, the gate is open folks. We hope to incorporate everything (website, new logos, new printed material) starting January 10.

Know Love, Grow Love, Show Love

Sneak preview to all the artist peeps. This will most likely be Pathway’s new focus as a church. We’re going to integrate this concept in everything at Pathway probably starting in January.
Know Love–it’s all about the worship and fellowship. It’s the first thing we want people to do as they come to Pathway. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.”
Grow Love–once we experience God’s Love, that is when we start growing. We begin discipleship (small groups, personal Bible Study and prayer). We also make connections within the small groups to pray and care for each other. ”Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Show Love–as we mature we look for ways to display God’s love to others even more. We participate in ministry to serve and grow the body and we participate in missions/actively engaging our community and the world. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

This is going to be a big deal, so keep this message in mind with your creative endeavors. Questions/comments?

T-Shirt Project

Rock’s Stars Children’s Choir is looking for a t-shirt for their upcoming musical. Here are the specs:

Title is “Legacy of Love.” We’re looking for an urban feel (music leans toward R&B). We’d like to keep it to 2 colors max. The “wording shouldn’t be the focus.” Due date for separations is 11/23 (two weeks, I know).

Any ideas? Let me know.

OK, OK it’s been over two weeks

Not a lot has been going on. I’m still working on “Peace on Earth” (Christmas series) which we’ll want a flier for 11/15.
Sarah’s still working on the new website layout. She’s actually presenting the Turning Point site to her html class today. The more she learns in her web classes, the more excited i get for what we can do here.
If you have any ideas for the websites, the upcoming series, or ministry logos feel free to post them so that we can work on incorporating them.

New Mission series title

After some consideration of singability and consistent quality, the theme song (and title) for November will be “Until the Whole World Hears.” Let’s keep the Christmas series in mind (Peace on Earth) when coming up with ideas. Having globes for both months may be overdoing it.

We’re going to have to blast through both of these projects pretty quickly. The imagery for November needs to be ready this weekend. The imagery for December needs to be ready early November. Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Week of 10/5/09

We got a new copier/printer in the office. I did a few tests today…ooh baby, this thing is so much better (cheaper per page, to boot)–more dpi, more speed, more color control. I wish we had this a couple of months ago.

Pathway is doing a blood drive on November 8. There’ll be a bulletin insert with info about that. I’m hoping to tie it in with our “Louder Than Before” imagery.

I guess that’s all for now. Drop a line, a question, a suggestion. All are welcome.

Update on October Series

I have an update on the October Sermons. It will be a 3 part series called “God’s Work in Me.” Jeremy will take the first week based on James 2:14. Weeks 2 and 3 will be “The Change Process” and “Recipe for Success” both based on Philippians. We’ll need to get an image for this pretty quickly, so if you have any ideas, please comment and we’ll get something worked out.

Update, week of September 28

Just thought I’d share everything I know about what’s happening at Pathway “artistically” right now, events that are scheduled to happen (meaning projects may be on the way), and future sermon series.

Fit for Duty is nearing an end. Thx for all your contributions.

The next series is still up in the air. Will probably be 3 independent sermons (Oct 11, Jeremy Williams; Oct 18 & 25, Jonathan Jarboe).

In November is our Mission emphasis series. The theme is “Louder than Before” (just like the new Jeremy Camp song). The sermons each week will not necessarily be sermons. One week will culminate in a food drive for local shelters. One week our S Africa team will present a message. One week will be an interview with Peter and Donna Rush–a missionary couple who attend Pathway.

The Christmas series is called “Peace on Earth.” Each week will focus on different types of peace that God gives us. During this series there will be a children’s musical and a family christmas evening event.

Right now, Sarah is working on updating the website for the Church and for Turning Point and Wired. I hear that Steven is working on new logos for TP and Wired. If anyone has any ideas for logos for any other ministries here at Pathway, feel free to contribute. I’ll do my best to keep you all posted at least bi-weekly with the graphic happenings here at Pathway. Thank you for your willingness to serve.
